NEW UTILITY BILLS!

As many citizens have noticed, utility bills were slower to your mail box this month. These will be arriving in the mail this week.

We have transitioned to a new utility billing software that includes a new billing service. We are going from post card-size utility bills to full letter-size and switching to a new online payment portal. Traditional payment methods are still available by mail-in, over the phone, in-person, and the nightly drop box.

Due to the transition, we had to send bills later than usual to ensure utility accounts correctly converted, the new software communicated properly with the billing templates, and staff was trained on the new platform.

Below is a sample bill in the new format, an annotated version identifying future revisions and new features, and the new online bill portal.

To adjust for the late billing, utility bills will be due on the 20th of this month. If there are any additional delays, we may adjust the due date accordingly. Another announcement will be made if this is necessary. Future bills will resume normal payment due dates of the 15th of each month.

If you would like to know your bill amount before it arrives in the mail, please call City Hall at 254-527-3219. We are still able to take payments at our service counter as normal.

The new bills will have the perforated bottom portion to take off and attach to mail-in payments, bring with you to City Hall, or place with your payment in the Drop Box.

We hope to add an online Customer Service Portal where citizens can access their current and previous bills, usage, and many more features in the near future. Stay tuned!
