Permit Plan Review Requirements
Plan Review Submittal Requirements
Before you submit your application, please prepare detailed drawings with the appropriate scaling of all your plans. Here are a few things that should be included:
- State intended use of building/remodel
- Will it be for the purposes of “Residential” or “Commercial” use
Each page should have:
- Consistent terminology (e.g. ‘Residential’ use should have consistent supporting concepts)
- Address of building being worked on
- Author (name of designer – could be yourself or contractor)
- Date of final draft creation
- Sheet/ Page number
- Scaled to appropriate dimensions (e.g. ¼ in. = 1 ft. OR grid paper = 1 ft/ grid.) including how far existing and proposed structures are from property lines
- Legend/ Key to show different piping, wiring, outlets, switches, etc. (use the industry standard pipe color coding)
- Green – Water
- Yellow – Gas
- Black – Sewer
- Orange – Electric
- If not described in Legend or Key, Label with pull-out excerpts from specified location with all dimensions and details of materials
For new builds/additions/remodels, specific drawings will need to be included: (See Plan Review Submittal with more details)
- Energy compliance such as insulation and ventilation (see attached Information sheet)
- Electrical wiring details
- Framing plans for replacement/new addition/new construction
- Foundation design for repair/replacement/new build/new addition
- Any plumbing and/or gas line details
