Rescind Boil Water Notice

***UPDATE - 12:30 PM - 4/26***

Please be advised:

The city has rescinded the boil water notice issued April 23rd.

Thank you.

*** UPDATE - 2:00 PM - 4/23***

Please be advised:

The City of Bartlett has issued a city-wide boil water notice due to low water pressure as a result of a scheduled water line upgrade on April 23rd.

Contractors have completed the scheduled upgrade and the City will rescind the notice as soon as possible once the required samples have been tested and approved. We anticipate the boil water notice to be rescinded the morning of Tuesday, April 26th.

*** UPDATE - 12:30 PM - 4/23***

Contractors have nearly completed the scheduled upgrade. Full pressure to the city water system should be restored by 4:00 PM today.

We were able to utilize isolation valves to isolate the upgraded section without completely shutting down water. We will coordinate with public works and the contractor to verify if a boil water notice is required.

An update will follow later this afternoon.

PLEASE BE ADVISED:

THE CITY IS SCHEDULING A PLANNED WATER OUTAGE AND BOIL WATER NOTICE FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 23RD FROM 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.

This planned outage and notice is a result of completing the second and final phase of the Bell Street Water Line Upgrade. We anticipate the boil water notice to be rescinded the morning of Tuesday, April 26th.

The city will update residents on the status of the boil water notice on the city website, city Facebook page, and CodeRED Emergency Notifications

As always, we understand boil water notices are extremely frustrating and inconvenient. They are issued in caution to ensure water is safe for use.

With the completion of the Bell Street Water Line Upgrade, we will have corrected a years-long, multiple water leak issue that has been a hotbed for mosquitos, unsightly and inconvenient for the area residents, and a significant liability on city resources as a result of multiple patch repairs and water loss.

An interesting note: one of the fire hydrants replaced on the project was stamped "1913". We are replacing infrastructure over 100 years old!

Utilizing approximately $126,000 of the $217,000 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding received last summer, we are proud and excited of the continued improvement of the city's infrastructure!
